Putting People Before Profit. Protecting Our Shared Humanity.

A grassroots manifesto for a more resilient, collaborative, and united South Lake Tahoe.

A Collective Future for South Lake Tahoe

My ultimate goal is to ensure that when we discuss the future of South Lake Tahoe, we are including all voices—from our local families and small business owners to our youth and seniors. I am deeply committed to championing policies that serve our community's long-term interests. These are interests that consciously put people before profit, protect our pristine mountain environment, and foster a culture of transparent collaboration on the city council.

Never underestimate the power of the people assembled. The future is collective liberation.

Moving From Survival to Thriving

It is clear that we have entered a meaningful era of heightened political consciousness. This isn’t just because of the record-high turnout of applications for the open City Council seat in December 2025, or the increased number of residents packing our local public meetings. There is a profound political awareness making its way throughout our entire country.

Never before in history have we seen so many everyday citizens running for public office. We are witnessing a record number of women, people under the age of 40, and individuals with diverse cultural and religious backgrounds winning elections and changing the landscape of American leadership from city halls to state capitals.

As I listened to the 21 candidates step up for our city council, I felt immensely proud of everyone ready to take on that responsibility. However, as I listened closely to the systemic issues our neighbors are actively challenged with, I couldn't help but think of how small we have allowed ourselves to become.

When asked what our community’s biggest challenges are, our people spoke of critical support for the unhoused, the soaring cost of living, being unable to afford rent or purchase a home, and the heavy burdens of basic healthcare, college tuition, childcare, and putting food on the table. Our people are simply asking for basic human needs to be met.

We should all be outraged that the endless amount of hard-earned taxes we pay don’t go directly toward improving our neighborhoods and giving each and every one of us the opportunity to thrive in life, rather than just trying to survive each day.

Demanding Accountable Leadership

Our tax dollars are used to absorb foreign debts and secure resources abroad, driving our nation deeper into a crushing $37 trillion national debt. Our local communities are actively suffering for it, while the pockets of corrupt politicians and corporate special interests are filled with millions of dollars. It is time we demand that our tax dollars work for Americans and directly improve our local communities.

We can no longer afford to sit back and claim to be "unpolitical." To say you are not political is to say that you do not care about people, and it plays directly into the hands of those who exploit our community.
